Treated wastewater:

Disinfection for safe reuse and operational efficiency

Still wasting valuable drinking water and struggling with biofilm?

Many wastewater treatment plants still rely on drinking water resources for cleaning, flushing, mixing and other processes – even though these resources are becoming increasingly scarce and an alternative source is already available on site: treated wastewater. At the same time, biofilm in nozzles, filters and pipes continues to build up, creating unnecessary maintenance, blockages and operational disruptions.

Solution for wastewater reuse and biofilm control

With our disinfection solution, you can safely reuse treated wastewater as non-potable, technical water for daily operations – without exposing employees to harmful bacteria. Disinfected water also minimises biofilm and improves polymer efficiency, so you use less.In addition, reclaimed water can be supplied for sludge vacuum trucks and other water-intensive tasks nearby, supporting the growing focus on saving and reusing water across utilities and industries.

You save valuable drinking water and improve operations.

Safe reuse at your treatment plant and beyond

Wastewater treatment plant

Treated and disinfected wastewater can be reused for:

  • Cleaning and washdown
  • Flushing of tanks, pipes, filters and nozzles
  • Automatic cleaning of inlet grates and dewatering equipment
  • Mixing of polymers and other substances in the drainage
  • Dilution of water/rinse water in piping systems

Outside the plant

Treated and disinfected wastewater can be supplied for:

  • Sludge vacuum trucks
  • Fire trucks
  • Industrial processes
  • Data centre cooling
  • Other water-intensive tasks nearby

The solution can also be applied at industrial plants with their own wastewater treatment systems.

Lower maintenance

Automated solution

A simple solution for safe wastewater reuse

Our solution makes recycling of treated wastewater safe and user-friendly in daily operation.

Once installed, treated wastewater passes through filtration and into a storage tank, where a controlled amount of disinfectant is dosed automatically. The water is then ready for reuse as technical water.

The disinfectant is produced on-site in a DCW unit using electrolysis of salt and water. The solution is automated and scalable. Our units can disinfect up to 125,000 m³ of treated wastewater per year.

Case: Documented results from wastewater plants

Reuse of wastewater saves water and money

A large Danish wastewater treatment plant has for more than 10 years reused treated wastewater in its processes – saving an average of 60,000 m³ of drinking water and DKK 548,000 per year. The water is disinfected with our solution.

“The solution is good for both the environment and our accounts. We all have a responsibility to save drinking water where we can…” says the engineer at the facility, responsible for operations and maintenance.
